Until recently, my image of gift baskets was limited to fruit baskets and easter baskets. After visiting GourmetGiftBaskets.com I now realize that they can be much more than that. They have special occasion baskets for events such as mothers day, graduation, and weddings, as well as interest baskets containing such items as gardening supplies, beer, gourmet food, and plants. I could go on and on. In the past, I’d thought of gift baskets as being somewhat generic. However, with the array of baskets catering to different interests and circumstances, this company has changed my mind. There seems to be a gift for everyone and every occasion.

I noticed on their webpage that GourmetGiftBaskets is a family-run enterprise that hand selects every item that goes into the gift baskets. They also offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee – if you’re dissatisfied, they will fix the issues or give you your money back. This kind of customer service is hard to come by.

GourmetGiftBaskets.com sent me a Classic Easter Bunny Gift Basket to review. The basket was arranged in a very visually appealing way and packaged to perfection in a plastic wrapped wicker basket with a multi-colored rafia bow on top. The ingredients include some of my childhood favorites (gourmet jelly beans, nerds, and peanut m&m’s) which are still my guilty pleasure foods. The rabbit stuffed animal is made of non-allergenic and non-toxic materials, it’s very cute, and it even has bendable ears. This arrangement was high quality – there were no hints of those cheesy grocery store easter baskets.

For the past 12 years my vision has been on a downward spiral.  I started out a little squinty and now everything over a foot away is blurry without corrective lenses.  Tragedy struck about a year ago when I somehow misplaced my glasses.  I’ve been making do with contacts, fearful of the couple hundred dollar bill that glasses quickly wrack up.  I recently discovered EyeBuyDirect and my dilemma has been solved!

EyeBuyDirect has frames priced from $7.95 to $49.95, which includes standard single vision lenses with an anti-scratch coating, glasses case, and cloth.  They have a range of lens thicknesses and coatings (UV, anti-reflective, light-adjusting etc.) available for an additional cost, which are all still tremendously cheaper than the eye doctors.

All of my previous glasses purchases have involved trying on innumerable pairs in order to narrow it down to the one that is just right.  After all, these things get worn on my face.  EyeBuyDirect has made this try-on experience possible with virtual eye-try, where you can upload a photo of yourself and select glasses to “try on.”  You can also post your favorite photo on the wall of frame, where people can leave you feedback.

This handy feature led me to select the Syracuse frames in brown:

I am so impressed with these glasses!   There is no discernable difference in quality between these frames and frames that I have purchased for a far greater price in the past.   The standard lenses are thinner than I anticipated, fitting my frames nicely despite a prescription of -2.75.  I’ve  been talked into paying extra for thinner lenses in the past (unnecessarily?).  I can’t speak to any of the added lens options, as I opted to review the standard lenses with the anti-scratch coating.  In hindsight I wish that I had put forth some of my own money to add the anti-reflective coating, but I simply did not expect these EyeBuyDirect glasses to so tremendously exceed my expectations.

I’ve been so thoroughly impressed with EyeBuyDirect that I don’t even have any constructive criticism to offer.  Even the protective case is nicer than the complimentary cases I’ve received in the past – it’s magnetic.  Needless to say, I recommend EyeBuyDirect for your glasses and sunglasses needs without hesitation!

So many funny shirts – it’ll be hard to choose just one!

This company has been fantastic to work with, and based on our interactions I would expect them to offer nothing shy of excellent customer service.  Their products are eye-catching and laughter-inducing, and their shipping time was super speedy.  The most apparent room for improvement that I see is that they do not offer any organic t-shirt options, and t-shirt color choices are limited.

To be fair, the huge selection makes up for the lack of t-shirt color choices.  A few more notable positives:  NachoMama has a daily t-shirt special – 3 t-shirts are marked down to $6.99 or less.  They also have a mystery shirt option for $6, or 3 mystery shirts for $15, for those feeling adventurous.

They have a variety of Funny T-shirts for everyone!

I love t-shirts.  In fact, I live in them.  As an employee of an outdoor retailer, I’m even able to work in them.  So it is with great excitement that I am reviewing Crazy Dog T-shirts.

After browsing their large collection of humorous shirts, I finally selected the Dinos are cool shirt for review,  found in the girls t-shirts category.

I have read in a few places that the women’s shirts run small, so I was careful to locate a size chart.  Measuring almost exactly between two sizes, I ordered the larger one.  It did not shrink much, if at all, after I washed and dried it.  Shipping was very fast, and my shirt arrived within days of ordering.  The shirt has a very tailored cut and fits snugly without being too tight.   The dinosaur picture is cute and fun, though my shirt does not have the white sketch lines visible in the picture above.  I love the hand drawn look and the font matches perfectly.  While the fabric certainly could be thicker, the lightweight nature of this tee is perfect for NC summers (or spring, based on the weather this week).
